Athletics

It is important to note that sports at the middle school level look quite different than on the high school level. Knox County middle school sports are classified into two distinct categories: Knox County sponsored sports programs and middle school community sports programs. Below you will find the Knox-County sponsored sports programs offered at Gresham Middle. In order to try out for any of these programs, students must have an up-to-date Physical Form on file at their school. The required physical form can be accessed here: KCS Physical Form. An updated physical is required each school year. 

Cheerleading Tryouts

  • Parent Meeting: March 19, 2026 @ 5:30 p.m.

  • Clinic Dates: April 7 – April 9, 2026

  • Tryout Date: Friday, April 10, 2026

Gresham Middle School is the home of the GMS Gladiator athletic teams. School sanctioned sports are in full compliance with Tennessee Middle School Athletic Association (TMSAA) rules and guidelines.
